There were two primary challenges we faced.
The first was to create a more user-focused website that will answer donors' questions about giving and make it easy for them to match their philanthropic aspirations with the University's needs.
The other challenge we faced was a technical one. We had to make the entire website easy to manage and update without using a content management system. To achieve this, we used Adobe's Dreamweaver. We used nested templates, library items and snippets to help the website administrators to easily make changes and update the website.
Finally, this needs no mention, but we built the website using web standards -- XHTML Strict, CSS and DOM.
